Kodiak part III: Old Harbor to Karluk

Next, John Sikes and I flew to Old Harbor for a little walk/paddle, over the mountains to Windy Lake, floated most of the Spiridon drainage with larger than expected rapids, glacial braids, a popped raft, and a surprise finish, then paddled in 30+ knot winds and breaking swells to Carlson Pt., then an open ocean crossing to Larson Bay where we ate lots of ice cream and John's wife flew and met us for the final leg- up over the mountains to Karluk Lake, and down the river to the Fish and Game camp and village.
